Show TikTok videos on your screen
The TikTok app plays TikTok videos on your screen one after another, each to the end. You choose the source: your own TikTok account, which needs a connection, or single videos you paste as links, which need no connection. TikTok Counter puts your follower or like count on the screen as one big number. You add both the same way as any other app, see Adding apps.
Choose a source
Under Source you pick one of two options:
- Own account: the recent public videos of your connected TikTok account. This never shows videos of other accounts or of a hashtag.
- Single videos: the videos behind the links you paste into the TikTok links field, one link per line, for example https://www.tiktok.com/@account/video/... Short links work too. You can add up to 30 links, also to videos of other accounts, as long as the video is public and allows embedding. A link that does not work is skipped.
Connect your TikTok account
For Own account and for TikTok Counter you need a TikTok connection.
- Go to Settings > Connections.
- Click Connect next to TikTok and sign in with the account you want to show.
In the app's settings, choose under Account: Default (team) uses the team connection, Manual (own connection) gives this one app its own connection.
Screenbird reads your profile details, such as your name, profile photo, username and follower count, and your public videos. You can disconnect at any time with Disconnect; that also withdraws Screenbird's access at TikTok.
Settings
- Layout: Video with info (default) shows your name, the caption, a QR code and, with your own account, your follower count next to the video. Video only shows only the video, with a blurred copy of it filling the background.
- Number of videos: 1 to 60 recent videos, 10 by default. Only with Own account.
- Max age (days): skip videos older than this many days. Leave it empty for no limit. Only with Own account.
- Max. duration per video (sec): 5 to 600 seconds. Leave it empty to play every video to the end.
- Show caption, Show followers and QR code: only with Video with info. Show followers needs your own account.
- Call-to-action: the text above the QR code. With your own account the QR code opens your profile; with single videos it opens that video.
- Font size (px) and Theme: text size and colors of the information next to the video.
- Refresh (min): how often the app fetches new videos, 1 to 60 minutes, 5 by default.
How the videos play
- Videos always play without sound.
- Each video plays to the end, then the next one starts. After the last video the list starts again.
- The videos play in TikTok's official player, which shows the TikTok logo and the creator's name. You cannot turn those off.
- With Video with info on a landscape screen, the video sits on the left with the information on the right; on a portrait screen the video fills the top with the information below. With Video only, a portrait screen shows the video edge to edge.
- A new video you post appears at the next refresh. The video that is playing finishes first.
- Without an internet connection the screen shows the cover image of each video together with the QR code. The videos play again as soon as the screen is online.
TikTok Counter
TikTok Counter always uses your own TikTok connection.
- Metric: Followers or Likes.
- Counter style: Flip board, Odometer or Modern.
- Title: a line above the number, only shown when you fill it in.
- Text label: the text below the number. If you switch to Likes, change this text too.
- Account banner: Off, Top or Side, with Show bio as an extra.
- QR code with your own Call-to-action: the QR code opens your TikTok profile.
A video does not show
- Only public videos that allow embedding can play. Private or deleted videos are skipped.
- A new video appears at the next refresh, see Refresh (min).
- If the connection no longer works, connect TikTok again under Settings > Connections.
