Best digital signage software in 2026 for small business
By the Screenbird team · · · Prices and facts verified October 14, 2026
Every platform is checked against its own pricing, product and help pages, with the sources linked under each entry.
Our pick for small and mid-size businesses is Screenbird: one plan at $14 per screen per month billed annually with every feature included, screen sharing from any laptop, and a player for the eight device types most small businesses use, from the Amazon Signage Stick and Fire TV to Windows, Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi and any browser. Of the nine platforms we compared, it is the only one that meets all three of our criteria.
Pick in 10 seconds
A shop, restaurant, gym or office with a few screensScreenbird
Screenbird is the only one of the nine platforms that meets all three of our criteria: one plan with every feature, screen sharing in the entry plan, and a player for all eight device types we checked.
Every other platform here holds back at least one of proof of play, business apps, user roles or screen sharing for a higher plan or a paid add-on, or does not publish it at all.
Screen sharing from a laptop is in every Screenbird plan. Elsewhere it starts at Play's Pro plan, Fugo's Core plan or Rise Vision's Enterprise plan, or costs $18 extra per screen per month at OptiSigns; the other four platforms do not offer it or do not publish it.
Free plans are built for testing, mostly on one to three screens: Play removes its free screen if you do not leave a review within 30 days, OptiSigns' free plan does not run on Fire TV, Google TV or Samsung and LG TVs, and Fugo's free screen carries a watermark.
Screenbird runs on the screens you already have, from an Amazon Signage Stick or Fire TV to Windows, Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi and any modern browser, with unlimited team members at no extra cost and a dashboard in 15 languages.
What digital signage software is (and what it is not)
Digital signage software decides what plays on your screens. It has two parts: a dashboard where you upload images, videos and app content, build playlists and set schedules, and a player on or next to each screen that shows that content.
It is not a TV's built-in USB slideshow, which you cannot update remotely, and it is not casting from a phone, which stops when the phone leaves the room. For a business, three things decide the choice: whether everything you need is in the plan you pay for, whether it runs on the screens you already have, and how easy it is for your team to keep the screens up to date.
One note on names: Screenbird on this page is the digital signage platform at screenbird.app, not the older screen recorder with a similar name.
How we compared these platforms
We compared nine platforms on three criteria that decide whether digital signage stays simple and affordable for a small or mid-size business, and read each vendor's own pricing, product and help pages on October 14, 2026. Security audits, self-hosting and enterprise procurement are outside the scope of this list.

Screenbird is our product. It comes first because it meets all three criteria; the others follow by the number of criteria they meet, and alphabetically where they tie.
The best digital signage software in 2026
Nine platforms, from one free screen to enterprise fleets. Each entry shows the price, what you get and what to watch out for, with links to the sources.
Our pick · 3 of 3 criteria met
1. Screenbird, best for small and mid-size businesses that want everything in one plan
Price: $14 per screen per month billed annually ($18 billed monthly). Every feature included.
Screenbird is cloud digital signage built around one plan: every feature is included at the entry price, so there is no plan ladder to climb and no feature add-on to buy. It meets all three of our criteria.
What you get
Every feature in one plan at $14 per screen per month billed annually, with no feature add-ons
Proof of play and screen sharing together for $14; at list price that takes OptiSigns Pro Plus plus its $18 screen-sharing add-on ($31.50, billed annually) or Fugo Enterprise ($40)

A built-in AI assistant: describe what you want in plain language and it builds playlists and schedules or creates a design from more than 250 templates; changes go live once you confirm
Runs on the Amazon Signage Stick, Fire TV, Google TV and Android, Windows, Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi and any modern browser; on the Signage Stick you pick Screenbird as the CMS provider during Amazon's setup
Unlimited team members at no extra cost, and a dashboard in 15 languages
Screens keep playing when the internet drops, and customer data is stored in the EU by default
Also included in every plan
Designer with 250+ templates
Playlists and scheduling
Split screen and sub-screens
Proof of play reports
Screens on and off on a schedule (HDMI-CEC, on supported players)
Google Sheets, Slides and Calendar
Power BI, Excel, SharePoint and OneDrive
Canva and Instagram
Good to know: You start with a 7-day free trial; a credit card is required. Each screen includes 10 GB of storage, and you can add more. Recent Samsung and LG smart TVs run Screenbird in their built-in browser, and for screens that run all day we recommend a small stick.
2. Fugo, best for business dashboards on TV screens

"Not listed" and "Not published" mean we could not find it on the vendor's own pages on the date above. Native apps for Samsung and LG are left out of the device table: most vendors build them for commercial signage displays rather than ordinary smart TVs, and Screenbird runs on recent Samsung and LG smart TVs in their built-in browser.
Free digital signage software: the limits
Free plans are a way to try a screen or three, not to run a business on. Here is what each one gives you and where the catch is, from the vendors' own pages.

One plan at $6 per screen per month billed annually, with the data region set by the country you sign up from. No app for consumer Samsung or LG TVs, no Mac, Linux or Raspberry Pi player listed, and no laptop screen sharing published.
What is the best digital signage software for a small business?
Our pick is Screenbird: $14 per screen per month billed annually, with every feature in one plan, screen sharing from any laptop, unlimited team members and a player for the Amazon Signage Stick, Fire TV, Google TV, Windows, Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi and any modern browser. Of the nine platforms we compared, it is the only one that meets all three of our criteria.
How much does digital signage software cost per screen?
Screenbird costs $14 per screen per month billed annually, with proof of play and screen sharing both included. Elsewhere the entry price can look lower, but key features sit in higher plans: the cheapest plan with proof of play, at list price for one screen, is $12 at Yodeck, $13.50 at OptiSigns, $16 at Play (10% off billed annually), $17 at NoviSign, $30 at ScreenCloud and $40 at Fugo per screen per month, billed annually unless noted, and screen sharing adds $18 per screen per month at OptiSigns.
What are the limits of free digital signage software?
Free plans are built for testing, mostly on one to three screens. Play removes its free screen unless you leave a review within 30 days, OptiSigns' free plan does not run on Fire TV, Google TV or Samsung and LG TVs and has no schedules, and Fugo's free screen carries a watermark. Screenbird gives you a 7-day free trial of the full product instead; a credit card is required to start.
What do I need to start with digital signage?
A screen, a player and an account. With Screenbird the player can be an Amazon Signage Stick, a Fire TV or Google TV device, a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, a Raspberry Pi or the built-in browser of a recent smart TV, so most businesses can start with the screens they already have.
What works on an Amazon Fire TV Stick or the Amazon Signage Stick?
Screenbird runs on both: on the Amazon Signage Stick you pick Screenbird as the CMS provider during Amazon's setup, and on Fire TV devices with Fire OS you install the app. Some new Fire TV Stick models run Vega OS instead of Fire OS, which Screenbird does not support, and neither do OptiSigns or Fugo, so for a new screen we recommend the Signage Stick.
What happens to the screens when the internet goes down?
Screenbird stores your content on each screen, so it keeps playing through an outage and syncs again when the connection returns. Live streams and web pages need the internet on every platform.
How do I share a laptop screen to a TV in a meeting room?
With Screenbird you open the dashboard in a laptop browser and share your screen to a TV that runs Screenbird; it is included in every plan. Elsewhere it is a higher plan or an add-on: Play from Pro, Fugo from Core, Rise Vision in Enterprise, and $18 per screen per month extra at OptiSigns.
How did you rank these platforms?
On three criteria a small business runs into every day: one plan with everything, screen sharing in the entry plan and players for the devices you have. Screenbird is our product and meets all three; the others follow by how many they meet, with every fact taken from the vendor's own pages on October 14, 2026.
Try Screenbird
Screenbird puts every feature in one plan: playlists and schedules, screen sharing, the AI assistant, the designer with more than 250 templates, the Google and Microsoft apps, and screens that keep playing when the internet drops.
It costs $14 per screen per month billed annually, or $18 billed monthly, excluding tax, with unlimited team members. You get 7 days free to test everything; a credit card is required to start, your subscription starts automatically after the trial, and if you cancel within 7 days you won't be charged.
Facts and prices verified October 14, 2026 against each vendor's own pricing, product and help pages. Prices are list prices per screen or display, excluding tax.
