Show social media on your screen
Screenbird has seven social apps: Instagram, Facebook, Social Media Wall, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram Counter, and Facebook Counter. You add one the same way you add any other app, see Adding apps, and then send it to a screen or drop it into a playlist.
Setting up the connection
Instagram and Instagram Counter use their own Instagram connection through Instagram Business Login. Facebook and Facebook Counter use the Facebook connection. Social Media Wall uses both: an Instagram connection and a Facebook connection, as two separate fields.
- Go to Settings > Connections.
- Click Connect next to the service you want and sign in.
In Instagram, Facebook, and the two counters, Account then lets you decide whether the app uses the team connection (Default) or its own connection for that one tile (Manual). Social Media Wall does not have that field.
LinkedIn and X (Twitter) need no connection at all, only a public URL.
Under Source you pick Own feed or Stories.
Own feed shows the recent posts of the connected account itself. Posts whose media Instagram does not release, for example because of copyright on the music, are skipped.
Stories shows only stories that the connected account posted itself and that are still live; Instagram removes a story after 24 hours. Stories you reshare from another account, such as a repost of a customer who tagged you, and live videos are not passed on to other apps by Instagram, so Screenbird cannot show them.
The main settings:
- Display mode: Single post, Grid (default), Carousel, Feed, Mosaic, or Flip cards
- Columns: 2, 3, or 4, only with Grid
- Post count: 1 to 100, 20 by default
- Max age (days): skip posts older than this many days, leave it empty for no limit
- Speed (sec per post): 3 to 60 seconds, 8 by default
- Image fit: Crop or Fit
- Show caption: text below the image
- Account banner: Off, Top, or Side, with Show bio and QR code as extras
- Refresh (min): how often the app fetches new posts
Under Page, choose which connected Facebook page you show. The display settings are the same as in Instagram.
Social Media Wall
Combines Instagram and Facebook in one view. Turn Instagram and Facebook on or off, pick the connection for each platform, and for Facebook pick the page as well. The display settings match the ones above, apart from the account banner: Account banner, Show bio, and QR code exist only in Instagram and Facebook.
Shows a single public LinkedIn post. Paste the post URL into the URL field. There is no company or profile feed.
X (Twitter)
Shows a single tweet or a single profile. Paste the URL into the URL field. Mentions and searches are not supported.
Counters
Instagram Counter and Facebook Counter put one big number on the screen.
- Metric (Facebook only): Likes or Followers
- Counter style: Flip board, Odometer, or Modern
- QR code with your own Call-to-action above it, so viewers can follow you
