Sending content to a screen

Sending content to a screen

  1. Go to Files in the sidebar.
  2. Click the item you want to display (image, video, app or design).
  3. Click Push to screen.
  4. Select one or more screens from the list.
  5. At the top of the window, choose Permanent or Temporary (see below).
  6. Click Send.

The content appears on the selected screens within a few seconds.

Tip: are your screens organized into folders? Use the search field at the top of the list; it searches across all folders at once, including sub-screen names.

Screens with a lock icon are locked to their current content and can't be selected until they're unlocked.

Permanent or temporary

At the top of the send window, choose how long the content stays on the screen.

  • Permanent: the content replaces the regular schedule on this screen until you remove it or send something else. Use this for content that should stay in place until further notice.
  • Temporary: the content is shown for a limited time (for example two hours, until 5:00 PM, or until midnight). Once the time is up, the screen automatically returns to the regular schedule. Use this for announcements, events or short campaigns.

If you send a new permanent push, an active temporary push on the same screen is automatically canceled.

For more details on how temporary pushes work, see Temporary content pushes.

Choose how content fits the screen

In the send window, choose how the content is placed on the screen:

  • Cover: fills the entire screen, may crop the edges
  • Fit: shows the entire content, with black bars if needed
  • Stretch: stretches the content to fill the entire screen
  • Original: shows the content at its original size

For images and videos with empty space (pillarbox or letterbox), the screen's background color is used. You can adjust this color in Screen settings.

Sending a playlist to a screen

The same flow works for playlists. Open Playlists, choose the playlist you want to send and click Push to screen. See Sending a playlist to a screen for the full explanation.

Removing content from a screen

  1. Go to Screens and click the screen.
  2. You'll see what's currently playing.
  3. Click Delete next to the item to remove it from the screen.

The screen returns to the regular schedule.

Troubleshooting

The content doesn't appear on the screen

  • Check that the player is online (green dot in the screens overview).
  • Check the device's internet connection.
  • Refresh the player by restarting the device or sending it a restart command.

The wrong content stays on screen

  • There may still be an active temporary push. Open the screen and check whether there's an active temporary push you can cancel.
  • The regular schedule may show different content depending on the time of day.
