What is a temporary push?

A temporary push lets you display content on a screen for a limited time. When the time is up, the screen automatically returns to its regular schedule. This is useful for announcements, events, daily promotions, or temporary closures, without having to remember to switch the content back yourself.

Send a temporary push

1. Go to Files in the sidebar.
2. Click on the item you want to display.
3. Click on Send to screen and select one or more screens.
4. Choose Temporary at the top of the send window.
5. Set the duration:

- Choose a number of hours (for example 2 hours), or

- Choose a specific end time (for example "Until 5 PM" or "Until tomorrow 9 AM")

1. Click on Send.

The screen plays the temporary content immediately. When the end time passes, the screen automatically returns to whatever was playing before, including its regular schedule.

How a temporary push behaves

• Persistent across reloads - If a player restarts during a temporary push, it picks up where it left off. The end time stays the same.
• Time zone aware - The end time uses the time zone of the screen. A "5 PM" push in Amsterdam and one in Tokyo each end at 5 PM local time.
• One temporary push per screen - A screen can have at most one active temporary push. Sending a new one replaces the previous one.
• Permanent push cancels temporary - If you send a permanent push to a screen, any active temporary push on that screen is automatically cancelled.

Cancel a temporary push manually

1. Go to Screens and open the screen.
2. You see the active temporary push at the top with the remaining time.
3. Click on Cancel next to the temporary push.

The screen immediately returns to its regular schedule.

See active temporary pushes

The screens overview shows a small clock icon next to any screen that has an active temporary push. Click on the screen to see the details: which content is playing, when the push ends, and a cancel button.

Common use cases

• Daily promotion - push an offer for the lunch hours, ends automatically at 2 PM.
• Live event - push a live stream or sport event for 3 hours, ends after the event.
• Closed today - push a "closed" message until end of day, normal schedule resumes tomorrow.
• Quick announcement - push a message for 30 minutes during a meeting or visit.

Troubleshooting

The content keeps playing after the end time

• Check the time zone of the screen in Screen settings. The end time uses the screen's local time.
• Refresh the player by restarting the device.

I cannot send a temporary push

• Verify the screen is online.
• Check if there is already a temporary push active. Cancel it first if needed.
