Adjust screen settings | Screenbird Help

In Screens, click a screen to open Edit screen. That is where you set the name, Orientation, Time zone, Default screen and Background color, control the screen, and find the advanced settings. Click Save to send your changes to the screen.

Basic settings

Name: give your screen a name you recognize, for example Ground floor lobby.
Current content: shows which content is permanently linked to this screen. Use Stop to take that content off.
Temporary: if a temporary send is running on the screen, you see it here and you can end it with Cancel temporary content.
Orientation: choose Landscape, Rotate 90°, Rotate 180° or Rotate 270°. Pick the rotation that matches the way the screen is mounted.
Time zone: the time zone that schedules on this screen follow. With Company default, the screen follows your company time zone.

Default screen and background color

Default screen decides what the screen shows once no content is linked to it anymore. A screen that has never had any content simply shows that it is paired. There are two choices:

Solid color: the screen shows one plain color.
Fixed file: the screen keeps showing the same file. That can only be an image or a video, not an app, a design or a split screen. Use the button underneath to pick the file.

Background color is set separately and always applies. The player uses that color as its background: behind the default screen, and as bars around content that doesn't fill the screen completely, such as a portrait video on a landscape screen.

Screen control

Expand Screen control for the picture and the sound of the screen itself.

Screen on/off: put the screen to sleep right away, or wake it up. This takes effect immediately, without saving. Underneath the toggle you read what the current state means.
Screen brightness: adjust the brightness, if the device supports it.
Audio volume: set the volume for videos and apps with sound.
Mute audio: turn the sound off completely.
Automatically turn screen on/off: let the screen switch itself on and off at set times. For each day of the week, choose Off, On or Schedule with a start and end time. Without a schedule of your own, the screen is on from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 22:00 and off on Saturday and Sunday. Not every TV supports this; test it after saving.

If you use an on/off schedule, the manual setting only holds for a while: at the next scheduled switch, the schedule takes over again. Without a schedule, the screen stays asleep until you wake it up here. In the screens overview it then carries the status Sleeping.

Advanced

Expand Advanced for the settings you need less often.

Lock content: holds on to whatever is on this screen. No other content can be sent to it and its sub-screens can't be changed. It is not a kiosk lock and has no PIN code; the contents of a linked playlist stay editable. See lock screen content.
Debug mode: shows technical information on the screen, which helps when something goes wrong.
Download status: shows on the screen when new content is being downloaded.
Offline indicator: shows a notice on the screen as soon as the connection drops.
Hide cursor: hides the mouse pointer, for example on a media player with a mouse or touchpad.
Layout: Whole screen, or Sub-screens to split the screen into sub-screens that each have their own content. See sub-screens.
Output: Default, or Pixel Mapping to send the picture to the output in pieces, for LED walls. Configure pixel mapping then opens the editor. You can combine this with sub-screens; they then show only images and video. See pixel mapping.
Screen mirroring: with Share to this screen you stream the picture from this computer live to the screen. See screen mirroring.

Click Save when you're done. The settings go straight to the screen.

Screen offline

If a screen shows Offline, the device has been out of contact with Screenbird for a while. Next to it you see when the screen last had a connection. Check that the device is on and has internet access, and that Screenbird is open on it. If a screen stays offline for more than 15 minutes, the owner and the admins get a notification. As soon as the device is connected again, it fetches the latest content by itself.
