A tour of the dashboard

The sidebar on the left of the dashboard holds every section: Files, Screens, Playlists, Schedules, Teams, Trash and Settings. Your profile picture sits at the bottom of that sidebar, and that is where your theme choice, your settings and the sign out option live. The bar above the page holds the magnifying glass for searching.

The sidebar

  • Files: your files, folders, apps, designs and split screens.
  • Screens: all your paired screens, their status and what they are playing.
  • Playlists: building and managing playlists.
  • Schedules: setting when which content plays.
  • Teams: teams and team members.
  • Trash: deleted items.
  • Settings: all your settings.

If Reports is switched on for your account, that item shows up as well. Sections you have no permissions for stay out of the sidebar. Collapse narrows the sidebar and Expand widens it again. On mobile, Files, Screens, Playlists and Schedules sit in a tab bar along the bottom of the screen.

Search

There is no permanent search bar. Search opens as a window on top of the page:

  • Click the magnifying glass in the bar at the top.
  • Or press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows).
  • Or press the / key.

From 2 characters on, Screenbird searches Files, Screens, Playlists and Schedules. Click a result to go straight there. If the assistant is switched on for your account, the question mark next to the magnifying glass opens it.

Settings

Click Settings in the sidebar, or click your profile picture at the bottom and then Settings. The settings are spread across tabs at the top:

  • Profile: your own details, your password and Language. See Profile settings.
  • Company: company name, address, time zone and billing email. See Company settings.
  • Brand settings: your brand colors, fonts and logo for the Designer.
  • Subscription: your plan, your number of screens and billing. See Manage your subscription.
  • Connections: connecting external accounts for apps.

Company and Subscription are visible to the owner only. Brand settings and Connections follow the permissions that come with your role.

Theme

Click your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar. Under Theme, choose Light or Dark. That same menu holds Settings and the sign out option. Your language is set separately, under Language on the Profile tab.
