Set a default item in a schedule
The default item is what a schedule plays for as long as no event is active. You set it with the gear icon in the top right of the schedule editor: that opens Schedule settings with the field Default item.
Set the default item
- Open a schedule under Schedules.
- Click the gear icon in the top right. The Schedule settings window opens.
- Under Default item, choose the type: None (black screen), Playlist or File.
- Under Content, click Choose content... and pick the item.
- Under Default item scaling, choose how the item fits on the screen.
- Click Save.
If no default item has been set while the schedule already holds at least one event, a warning appears above the calendar with a shortcut to that same setting. An empty schedule doesn't show the warning.
What plays when
- At the scheduled times, the event plays.
- Outside the scheduled times, the default item plays.
- If it is set to None (black screen), the screen stays black outside the scheduled times.
There is no priority field for events. When two events overlap, the one that was created last wins.
Scaling of the default item
Default item scaling applies to the default item only; the scaling of an event is set on the event itself.
- Fill: fills the whole screen, edges of the item can be cut off.
- Fit: the whole item stays visible, with bars if the aspect ratio doesn't match.
- Stretch: stretches the item to the screen, which changes the aspect ratio.
- Original: shows the item at its own size.
New schedules start out on Fit. You set the color of the bars per screen with Background color, see screen settings.
