Playlist settings: scale, transition and orientation

Open playlist settings

  1. Go to Content > Playlists in the sidebar
  2. Click on the playlist you want to edit
  3. Look for the Settings or gear icon
  4. Click on it to open playlist settings

Display duration

Set how long each content item is displayed:

  1. Open playlist settings
  2. Find the Display duration option
  3. Set the duration in seconds (e.g., 10 seconds per item)
  4. Items can also have individual durations
  5. Click Save

Transition effect

Choose how content transitions from one item to the next:

  1. Open playlist settings
  2. Find the Transition option
  3. Choose a transition effect:

- None: Instant switch

- Fade: Smooth fade from one item to the next

- Slide left: Content slides in from the right

- Slide right: Content slides in from the left

- Fade: Smooth opacity transition

  1. Set the transition duration (in milliseconds)
  2. Click Save

Scale and fit options

Control how content is displayed on your screen:

  1. Open playlist settings
  2. Find the Scale or Fit option
  3. Choose how to display content:

- Fit: Scale content to fit the screen while maintaining aspect ratio

- Fill: Scale content to fill the screen (may crop some content)

- Stretch: Stretch content to fill the screen (may distort)

- Original: Display at original size (may have black bars)

  1. Click Save

Rotation and orientation

Rotate content for portrait or landscape displays:

  1. Open playlist settings
  2. Find the Rotation option
  3. Choose the rotation angle:

- : Landscape (normal)

- 90°: Portrait (rotated right)

- 180°: Upside down

- 270°: Portrait (rotated left)

  1. Click Save

Loop and repeat settings

Control how the playlist plays:

  1. Open playlist settings
  2. Find the Loop option
  3. Choose:

- Loop: Play the playlist continuously from start to end

- Shuffle: Play items in random order

- Single item: Play one item and stop

  1. Click Save

Aspect ratio

Set the aspect ratio for content display:

  1. Open playlist settings
  2. Find the Aspect ratio option
  3. Choose the aspect ratio:

- 16:9: Standard widescreen

- 4:3: Traditional TV format

- 1:1: Square

- 21:9: Ultra-wide

- Custom: Set your own ratio

  1. Click Save

Audio settings

Control audio playback for videos:

  1. Open playlist settings
  2. Find the Audio option
  3. Choose:

- Mute: All audio is disabled

- Volume: Set volume level (0-100%)

  1. Click Save

Apply settings to all items

To apply settings to all content items in the playlist:

  1. Open playlist settings
  2. Look for Apply to all items checkbox
  3. Enable it
  4. Click Save

All items in the playlist will now use these settings.

Tips

  • Test different transitions to find what works best for your content
  • Use "Fit" for most cases to avoid distortion
  • For portrait displays, set rotation to 90° or 270°
  • Set display duration based on how long it takes to read/view the content
  • Use fade transitions for a professional look
  • Adjust volume for videos based on ambient noise in your location
