Yes, and this one is not negotiable. Microsoft's Graph API does not serve SharePoint sites or pages to personal Microsoft accounts at all, so a personal account cannot reach a site even in theory. Any Microsoft 365 Business plan that includes SharePoint works.
No, and that is deliberate. SharePoint Online blocks other sites from embedding its pages, so nobody can show a live intranet page on a screen. Instead we read the news posts themselves and lay them out as signage cards: the title, the intro, the header image, and the date, sized for a wall rather than for a desk. It is the same content, laid out for a screen people walk past.
The newest published news posts from the site you picked, up to the number you set. Ordinary site pages are not news posts and stay off the screen, and a post that is still a draft or checked out stays off until it is published.
Almost always the posts exist as regular pages rather than as news posts, or they are not published yet. In SharePoint, a news post is created with the News button on the site, not with New page. Publish one that way and it appears at the next refresh.
No. Every other Microsoft app here accepts a public link, but SharePoint refuses to be embedded by other sites, so a pasted link would show an empty frame. The Microsoft connection is the only route, and it is also the only way to reach a private site at all.
Microsoft requires an administrator to approve access to SharePoint sites once for the whole organization. That is Microsoft's rule, not ours. After that one approval, everyone in the organization can connect without asking again.
Images, PDFs and video files. Word, Excel and PowerPoint files have their own apps in Screenbird, which render them properly rather than offering a download, so pick those apps for those files.
Yes, with Split Screen. Divide the screen into zones and give each zone its own SharePoint app, so news from head office and a production board from a plant site can share one wall.
At the next refresh. You set that interval yourself, anywhere from every 1 to 60 minutes; the default is 5, so a post published now is on the wall within five minutes.
