How to display VALD leaderboards on a TV
Last updated July 15, 2026
A VALD leaderboard can reach a TV screen a few ways: exporting test results to a spreadsheet, casting the VALD Hub from a laptop, or connecting your VALD environment directly to signage software that ranks and displays it for you. For a board that stays current without anyone re-exporting it, the direct connection is the one built for a screen that's always on.
With Screenbird, for example, you connect your own VALD environment once, choose the team, test, and metric to rank on, and the leaderboard keeps itself current from there, reading the same test results your coaches already see in VALD.
The end result, live on your TV.
What you need
- A TV or monitor with an HDMI input
- A media player: Amazon's Signage Stick is hardware-tested for smooth playback, and the Fire TV Stick 4K, smart TVs, and Windows, Mac, or Linux devices work the same way
- A Screenbird account (free trial, then $16 per screen per month)
- A VALD environment with ForceDecks and/or NordBord test data, plus API access (Client ID and Client Secret) from VALD
Can't I just export the results?
There are quicker ways to get VALD results onto a screen, but each one falls behind pretty fast for a board you want to leave running:
Export test results to a spreadsheet works once, but every new test session means exporting and re-uploading again, so the board is out of date by the next workout.
Cast the VALD Hub from a laptop ties up a laptop next to the screen and shows VALD's own interface, not a clean ranked leaderboard built for a TV.
Print a leaderboard sheet is static the moment it's printed, and someone has to remember to reprint it after every session.
Signage software that connects to VALD directly exists for exactly this: it reads live test results, ranks them the right way for the metric, and keeps the screen current without anyone touching it after setup. That's the route in the steps below.
Step-by-step with Screenbird
For the full click-by-click walkthrough, see the Screenbird Knowledge Base.
Create your free account
Sign up for Screenbird in your browser. No installs needed on your computer, and the trial starts right away.
Pair your screen
Install the Screenbird player on the TV or media player in the room. It shows a 6-character pairing code. Enter that code in your dashboard to connect the screen.
Add the VALD app
In My files, click New, choose New app, and pick VALD from the app browser.
Connect your VALD environment
This connects to the VALD environment your team already uses. Enter your VALD Client ID and Client Secret. If you don't have API access yet, request it from VALD; that step happens on VALD's side and can take longer than the rest of this setup.

Pick the group, the test, and the metric to rank on. Only the tests your team actually records show up, pulled from your own VALD catalog. See the board live before you save.
Push it to the screen
Send it to any screen. It keeps itself current from there, with no re-export and no manual refresh.
The result
The screen now shows a ranked leaderboard straight from your VALD test results, and it stays that way: the next training session's results show up on their own, without anyone re-exporting or re-uploading anything.
Strength room ranking
Rank the squad on jump height or peak power right where they train.
Pre-match motivation
Show the week's standings in the corridor players walk through before a session.
Rehab progress tracking
Give a returning-player group its own board to track strength recovery over time.
